After settling into your lodge and enjoying lunch, the afternoon is dedicated to your first photography session with the Hamer people. Known for their elaborate hairstyles coated in ochre, intricate beadwork, and vibrant cultural identity, the Hamer offer exceptional portrait opportunities.

Your guide will arrange a visit to a nearby village where photographers can capture authentic moments of daily life, traditional dress, and environmental portraits during the warm late- afternoon light.

After breakfast, depart Turmi and travel toward the Kara (Karo) tribe, considered some of the most visually striking people in the Omo Valley. Arriving in Dus village, perched above the Omo River, you will spend the afternoon photographing the Kara people, famous for their elaborate body painting using white chalk, red ochre, and charcoal.

The dramatic riverbank setting and the tribe’s artistic body decoration provide exceptional opportunities for portrait and documentary photography.

Following a short stop for lunch in Kangaten, the main town of the Nyangatom people, the journey continues to the remote village of Kakuta, located near the Ethiopian–South Sudan border.

The Nyangatom are renowned for their colorful beadwork, decorated hairstyles, and distinctive body ornaments. The afternoon photography session focuses on capturing portraits, cultural details, and daily life in one of the most remote tribal areas of the Omo Valley.
